The Manaweaver is a completely original spellcasting class built around a fantasy many have attempted and few have executed successfully: A spell stealer. Through Devour and spell predation, Manaweavers extract magical essence, absorb supernatural properties, and weave those energies into short-term adaptive power. Manaweavers temporarily steal, siphon, and manipulate creature traits, transforming enemies into immediate tactical resources. This essence can even be transmuted into enchanted food, allowing the Manaweaver to share with the party the traits they've stolen.
This class introduces a dynamic spellcasting experience centered on adaptive magic, reactive control, and battlefield improvisation. Manaweavers twist hostile spells, intercept magical effects, and repurpose enemy strength without destabilizing game balance or encounter flow. While they are the bane of other spell casters, they also are able to hold their own against martial threats.
This class comes with 3 subclasses known as Motifs, which are their personal philosophy and style of weaving.
Itamae Motif: A culinary spell-weaver who transforms consumed creatures into empowering meals, battlefield buffs, and magical sustenance. Devour becomes a shared resource, turning slain enemies into tactical advantages for the whole party.
War Weaver Motif: A battlefield strategist who scans enemies, redirects spell damage, and converts their resources into power for allies. Ideal for players who enjoy tactical positioning, magical triage, and party synergy.
Magic Hunter Motif: A predator of spellcasters who bends, redirects, anchors, and suppresses hostile magic. Built specifically to dominate magical enemies and spell-heavy encounters.
Each motif alters not only playstyle but party role, allowing the Manaweaver to shift between controller, support/disruptor, or hybrid caster.
The class includes a dedicated spell list along with access to Far Shore-exclusive magic through an accompanying PDF. These Manaweaver-exclusive spells are designed with synergy in mind, allowing for evolving combos despite the 5e turn style combat.
